This next family I first met this spring to photograph their 2 yr daughter Lucy. She has so much personality for being so young I was excited to see her again and meet her new little brother Edson. I got to photograph the very first time Lucy held him. There was a little question on how she would do but she came through like a champ and in true Lucy form she was beaming the entire time.
This is such a great family and I was honored to get to photograph their newest arrival!

I first met and photographed this next family earlier this year and I was looking forward to seeing them again. I could sit back and watch these two kids all day long. You will see by this pictures that they are full of personality and wherever big sister goes little brother is sure to follow.

For the last 6 weeks I had been looking forward to photographing my close friends little girls. Their mom was up for anything so I got to pick a location that I was wanting to check out. In my head I thought it would be such an amazing neighborhood to photograph in. Between her work schedule and mine w/ the bad weather mixed in we hadn't found a day to get out. On Friday I needing an outing with my boys, the weather was not great but I called her in hopes to squeeze in some time between rain showers. It was sprinkling when we parked but she said the girls were game. As soon as she and I got out of our cars we were pelted w/ marble sized hailstones...so much for our attempt. We headed to lunch and to try and wait out the downpours. It was still sprinkling but we decided to see what we could make of it...and I'm so glad we did!! We only got about 10 minutes of shooting time, it was wet but I think the wait and working w/ the conditions were so worth it!! I hope my friend does too. Most people would assume that family photos in the winter are not an option but I think it may be one of the best times to capture kids. So if you like these, know that we can make it happen for you all winter long!
Katrina, I hope these put a big smile on your face...your girls are the best!

I first photographed the Pfeiffer girls last year and some of the images from their shoot are still my some of my all time favorites (among them is the holding hands shadow that you can see on my website). So I was looking forward to photographing them again. They are so beautiful!

I have been photographing little Harper since she was just a bump on her mom's belly. I have had so much fun documenting her first few years and I was really excited when I received the email telling me her baby brother had arrived. I LOVE this first image. It looks like little Grady even snuck in a smile for us.

I had so much fun running around with this beautiful family of five. I know they are anxious to see what came out of the controlled chaos...so Shannon I hope you love them...I really love the first image...it is not w/ 3 perfect smiles but instead you can just sense how much they love each other from the embraces and the smiles on the boys.

Murphy's Law....

I was so lucky to spend a long weekend in Lake Tahoe attending a wedding of my husband's friend. But being away for a weekend always gets me a little anxious as I tend to work in my office on weekends so I knew I would get home a little behind the eightball. My husband was traveling straight to Las Vegas for a weeklong conference and returning to 3 nights shifts in the ER so I knew it may be a long week and I was hoping to somehow stay on top of it. Well my hopes are quickly going out the door so if you are waiting to hear from me please be patient...this is how my week got started. My flight home was delayed almost 4 hrs and as soon as I landed yesterday evening I was on the road for 4 hrs to get my boys who had spent the weekend w/ their grandparents...thank you mom & dad!!
Then this morning on our way to the car to get the boys off to school Oscar took a header and we spent the rest of the morning at the dentist...he was an incredible trooper the entire morning not even flinching the entire time he was in the dentist chair. W/ a few tears after the numbness wore off he is back to his normal self...sans a tooth. Just in time to be a jack-o-latern for Halloween!! Just thought I'd share a few pictures of his new look...this is especially for his dad who won't get to see his smiley guy for a few days...

Driving to this next shoot I was 98% sure we were going to have to reschedule as the showers started just minutes before I walked out the door. It was not looking good when I met up with the family as light rain came down. But we decided to give it a try and I truly thought we would be at it for 5 minutes before we realized it was a futile cause...but this family was full of troopers and they were rewarded w/ the rain letting up and having a great time with their twins running around amongst the beautiful fall colors. I love that they both were toothless and having as much fun as I was! And I love the last image of mom & dad. They were just so happy watching their kids. What a great end to a shoot that that I didn't think would even happen.
