I am still on a bit of a high from today's GEDIM shoot. I cannot explain exactly what is going through my head right now but I just feel so fortunate not just because I have the opportunity to photograph amazing scenes that play out in front of me but I am getting to meet so many amazing women. Every day I have left thinking I just wish I could sit down & get to know all these women. Meeting great people really fuels my soul so although our meetings are brief it is really energizing me to continue this month long fundraiser.
Today I had to change what I have been doing as the workload in combination w/ my "regular" work has become a little overwhelming. W/ each shoot I usually pick a few favorites which takes me time because I always have a tough time narrowing to just a few and then I work those images a little before posting them. For the rest of the month I will be sharing images straight out of the camera (sooc) & if you visit my Facebook Page

GEDIM May 10th...after waiting at my favorite little spot (conveniently just a few doors down from my work) for someone to arrive I decided to call my son, down whose outfit today made me smile, and I would make my own donation so the funds raised continued to grow today. But I was not the only contributor thanks to a great client of mine. She knew she wouldn't be able to make it to a GEDIM shoot but believes in the cause and made a $100 donation. Thank you Gretl!
My son only gave me one minute to work, yes, I have the same problem as all of you, photographing your own kids just isn't as easy as photographing others. But he did have fun running around the great little spot. I hope to do another day in this spot because it is really special. You could have a shot like this for your donation...

Tea Party

With my server outage I overlooked posting more images from the Tea Party in the park. It was a big hit as were the tasty Mighty O Donuts. Here are a few favorites of everyone who showed up.

Friday morning was so much fun. The combination of cute kids and a bunch of balloons makes my job very easy. Thank you to Suzanne, Kerri, Tricia & Jody for your contributions to Soul. Your donations capped off a great week w/ over $1,000 raised. I have set my own personal goal of how much I can hand over to such a deserving organization and I cannot wait to see if we can make it happen! Help me reach $5,000 by the end of May. Come out for a shoot and spread the word. I promise to provide everyone with images like these of your loved ones.

Server outage...

My webhost server has had an "emergency outage" ALL day today. I am about to pull my hair out! I cannot receive any emails, you cannot view my website, blog, client galleries...UGH!! Hoping the issue will be resolved by the time I wake up in the morning. I did post a handful of new pictures from today's Ballons in the Park shoot on my Facebook page. I will be continuing Giving Every Day in May on Monday the 10th. Clues to location & time will be posted over the weekend. I hope you can join me next week. I am excited to say that this week all the generous contributions to Soulumination totalled just over $1,000. THANK YOU!! I would LOVE to hit $5,000 by the end of May but I will need your help. Finally, I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day. I will be thinking about all the moms who have lived through the loss of their child and those who are in the fight of their lives against cancer. Please send out special thoughts to them.

Giving Every Day in May was a big success again today and I think everyone had a lot of fun. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed w/ the workload I have created for myself but everyone's enthusiasm & contributions have been so motivating that I am looking forward to 3 more weeks of great days...but I definitely will need everyone's help to keep spreading the word.
I will be sharing more images for today's shoot shortly but I had to share these ones first as they are a highlight for me. Her mom said she didn't really sit up on her own but we decided to give it a try and I think maybe all she needed was a tutu to give her a little sassy look that she wanted to show off. And then she gave me some big beaming smiles. Really too cute for words!

GEDIM May 6th

Today may be the last day of the GEDIM for this week. I don't work on Friday so I am not sure I can squeeze it in...but stay tuned as if I can swing one I will make it happen.
This afternoon at 4:30 I will be at Roanoke Park for a little tea party. So if you have little ones that want to come in their tutus and enjoy some tasty Mighty O donuts this shoot is for you. I will have some extra tutus on hand if they are not in your closet.
Again, it is a first come first serve basis with a minimum donation to Soulumination of $25. For your thoughtful donation I promise to provide you with images that will make you smile.

This will be the fourth year that I have photographed this next family. Their kids are so sweet and have incredible manners and are always up for whatever I ask of them. To see how they have grown and changed over the years has been fun for me. They are as cute as ever!
