If you are a long time follower of my blog you know that I LOVE spontaneity and that is just what I got with this sitting. A few Sundays ago I was up at the mountain waiting w/ other moms for their kids to finish up their last day of ski lessons when one mom mentioned she really needed to get her kids pictures done and wanted to make it happen while her son's two front teeth were still missing. She asked what my schedule looked like, I said I could do a shoot the next day but the following few wks were tight. W/out hesitation she said "Let's do it tomorrow!" She & her husband had to work so I had fun exploring and laughing with her two boys. I feel so fortunate that their parents trusted me to capture her boys' personalities without her guidance. These brothers have quite a bond. Whatever big brother did his little brother was close behind trying the exact same thing. And I am closing with an image that just makes me laugh.

And then there were two...more classes to go. As the kids get younger I always enjoy myself even more because the challenge of breaking the ice with them gets a little more difficult as they are usually much more shy and unsure of stangers w/ big black cameras in front of their faces. I love the last picture because it shows that the kids really were having fun not just giving me their "just take the stickin' picture already" smile. Another set of adorable kids!

In the middle of the night I woke up to a downpour outside, I made a mental note that my family sitting that day would be rained out, then I went to bed. That afternoon as I was working in my office I answered my phone and the person on the other end very nicely said hello and that they were waiting for me to arrive. OH MY GOSH my head almost spun off my body. My mental note had stuck and I COMPLETELY forgot about the sitting even though it ended up being a gorgeous, dry day. I am a very laid back person but the one thing that I can't stand is being late, even if it is 2 minutes late. So my stomach was in knots as I worked my way through afternoon traffic trying my best to speed my way to my clients' home. Even now as I type my stomach is in knots just thinking about it. I am so lucky that they are super laid back too and I so appreciate their patience and understanding and I am very excited to share these images with them. Their girls are adorable.

Another class, another bunch of cute kids! I am adding a few extras of hugs and kisses. On the "make up" day I had a couple kids that were absent and Oscar wanted to be my helper. He doesn't get to see his mom work too much so he got to sneak out of class for a few minutes and it was worth it because I captured his first playground kiss. I am ending this post w/ that series. It was so cute. They were giving big hugs and then both went in for a kiss on the cheek at the same time. The second to last image shows Oscar feeling like he just worked his magic. So smooth! It is fun to see all the kids get along so well. Oscar has been looking over my shoulder as I have worked through the images and I just wish I could bottle up how much he loves each and every classmate.
