This family was the first to get to play in some fall leaves. And I have to say this year there haven't been as many lucky families because the rain game and has barely left since this sitting. The rain is killing me!! This time of year is all about wondering if the rain will stop and lots of rescheduling. Thank goodness with the rain comes snow in the mountains so at least I can look forward to getting on the slopes soon!
These girls were almost the same distance apart in age as I was w/ my sister so I spent the sitting thinking about my youth with my sister and I. I don't think there is anything as special as a sisters' bonds...lots of laughs, some tears and more laughs. It was apparent that these two have all of that and more.

I always look forward to urban shoots as it is fun for kids to explore areas they really haven't seen before and the colors and textures are always just as fun. These two boys have always been so easy to photograph and this year was no different...

Computer issues have been resolved...WHEW!!! It was a rough few days! But when I think of how much fun I had running around w/ these kids I am reminded that most of my work is so much fun. Unfortunately I have to keep this short as I am trying to squeeze in a few hours of work on my day off...

I am on day two of a knockdown drag out battle w/ my computer...so far I am losing and am just as close to losing my mind too! I LOVE what technology has done for my industry but I LOATHE it when I have no idea how to fix it. Being a one-person business definitely has its drawbacks...I have been daydreaming about just picking up the phone to call my IT guy to fix my mess. I swear it is Murphy's Law that it happened this week. I was just feeling like I was going to finally be managing my crazed 4th quarter work better than I have in the past and now I feel like I am taking 10 steps backwards...ugh. And to top it off it is raining outside and I think I will be rescheduling more shoots in the next few weeks than actually shooting. I think I need to hope on the first flight to Mexico!!
But just when I am getting completely frustrated I take a look at my next families' images and my day gets a little brighter. Leaves had just started falling and we were able to enjoy a few...always a hit with the kids. These 3 are always fun to work with and they have such great parents! It is so obvious what a close family they are and how much fun they have together.

The day before I was scheduled to shoot little Miss Grace I scouted out the few good options in El Paso. The one we decided on was a spot we had already photographed at together. I had a thought to call her mom and ask if she had any tutus or an old chair to bring along for some fun variety. But I didn't want to put any pressure on her in case she didn't have those things and would worry about coming empty handed. So when they opened up the back of their car the afternoon of the shoot I had such a good laugh because what did I see but colorful tutus and an old chair. That was seriously crazy because I NEVER think of adding in props so the one time I did there they were. And as you will see Grace and I had so much fun with them. A great way to end my trip!!

Another beautiful setting, more beautiful families!! I will be the first to admit that large, extended family pictures are not my forte or my favorite to take, as spontinaity usually goes right out the door. But this family made it so easy on me, even the infant was dialed in, which is so rare. It was obvious how much affection these cousins shared for each other, lots of hugs and laughter to go around. The definite highlight of the day was given to me by the youngest in the group. At the end of the shoot we roused him from his comfy nap and went to a little quiet spot. Expectations were very low since he just woke up but he blew my expectations out of the water. All of the sudden his beaming personality came out and then he decided it was time to show his mom that he could sit on his own. It was a first for him and I felt so lucky to be there capture it! Look how solid he was & smiling the whole time to boot.
