Before the holidays I had a few last sittings. I am sure the families are beginning to think I had forgotten about them. There is no way I could forget about the smiles on these next two little guys. When we got out of our cars there was a question of how long they would last as it was COLD. But it was clear that all they cared about was how much fun could be had regardless of the freezing hands.
Kim, I hope you had a great holiday and that these will make your new year!

I am leaving in 7 hours for a little R&R with my family up to Canada. It is a very relieving feeling to be heading out of town will all my work complete. From August to December I work at a feverish pace culminating with the holiday rush. It has been an incredible year and I am so thankful for all my wonderful clients! I am also very thankful for my assistant Kelly. Without her I could not have made it through. I am looking forward to an even better 2008!
With that I will leave you with a few more personal pictures. Of course I am biased but I LOVE these pictures. All but one are from our trip downtown to visit Santa. We decided to make a day of it and ride the brand new street trolley. As soon as we got out of the car to head to the trolley stop I was gushing about how great the area was for pictures. Usually Oscar is the one to give up a few good looks for me. This time I was ecstatic that the great ones of the day were from Cooper...the older he gets the harder it is to photograph him (I'm sure that sounds familiar to all of you parents out there). Oscar's pics make me smile even though they aren't as eye catching. I really love his one tooth look. I'm sure I will tire of it in a few years but it so perfectly fits him. And the one of him looking down the street. He just couldn't wait to catch a glimpse of the trolley.
And finally, the long wait to see Santa was well worth it for these two. Cooper just kept saying how great the day was. The innocence of Christmas is priceless!
Happy Holidays!!

Another great holiday season is has come to an end for me. It was great but I am very relieved to have it behind me with happy clients set for the holidays.
Tonight I decided to finally work a few images I recently took. The first were from the beautiful snow day we had a few weeks ago. My kids were not too easy to photograph but I was so happy to have my neighbor kids join us on a walk and they indulged me a little. Snow is truly magical!! It is extraordinarily beautiful and the peace that falls on an area w/ the first snowfall...I wish we could bottle it up and ship it all over the world!!

My posts seem to be getting fewer and farther between...I have been buried in the holiday crunch and am just now starting to surface. It is always my most difficult time of year meeting. I really need to thank my husband and boys for dealing with my long hours of work and hopefully getting away on Saturday with them will make it all worth it.
For me it is all worth it to have clients who are super excited about their one-of-a-kind holiday cards and for gifts that they are going to give their loved ones...and knowing that a vacation is just around the corner helps a little too.
Winter weather had set in the day I was scheduled to photograph this these boys. I talked with their mom about rescheduling to a day that we could get outside but she was fine with giving it a whirl indoors at their home. These two were FULL of energy and I was able to coax them my way with a little game of jumping off the couch into a sea of pillows. We had a ball together and as I was packing my bags to head home Jamison came up to remind me that I owed him a pillow fight. So back upstairs I went and he got me good. Such a great way to spend a horrible, rainy day!

Sarah & Eric were married in 2006 and I was lucky enough to photograph their wedding. I think they make an perfect couple and now they make perfect parents! And I feel lucky again that they asked me to photograph their 3 week old baby boy Ellis...he too is lucky because he has two of the best parents he could have ever imagined!
I hope Sarah doesn't mind me sharing the picture of Ellis making himself heard but I couldn't not post it as I really love it. He is even beautiful when he cries. And I had to share a picture of their first baby...Bella...I am not sure she is too happy about her move down the family ladder.

Even before meeting this next mom she had sent me some very nice emails complimenting my work. I have photographed a number of her friends' families and I know she was excited to have me photograph her family. Bad weather had been forecasted for days and I was fairly sure we were going to have to reschedule and I was shocked when I woke up to find it dry out. It was close to freezing but her kids were troopers. I hope the images live up to Amy Beth's high hopes. I know I have a few very favorites that will soon make there way to my website.

If you have continued reading my rambling than you may be in luck to win a little prize. I am going to have a little contest and the winner will receive a $50 credit to be used towards a sitting, prints or products.
I have a favorite, bright backdrop that can be found all over town and sometimes I ask kids to indulge me and take a few pictures in front of it. Rylan did just that and again I love it (the blue background below). Be the first to email me with the correct guess and I will send you a gift certificate. (there are a few clients of mine out there that unfortunately are exempt from winning as they too have been subjected to this backgound).

A few weeks back I posted images of a mom to be. Well baby Zach arrived a few days before Thanksgiving so they had lots to celebrate for the holiday. I photographed Zach's brother when he was just a week old and we were all amazed that Zach looks like Ben's identical twin. I am looking forward to watching him grow.

I so enjoyed photographing Cortney and Conner and was excited when their grandma wanted to do another sitting with them. We got lucky with a rain break and enjoyed the fall leaves at their peak.
