A few days left...
If you have been thinking of a family or individual who you think would be a great candidate to receive a my services email me soon!! I will be accepting nominations through the end of February.
It already feels like it was forever ago that we were in Hawaii so it was about time that I got to work on my sister's family images. As I worked on them I constantly found myself in awe at how old my nephews and niece have gotten. Her oldest is a junior and it seems like yesterday that he was crawling around entertaining us all as the first grandchild. I know she is excited to see the pictures and I really hope she loves them. Since Abbie's accident she has been working tirelessly to provide the best therapy and support for Abbie while supporting her boys to be the best they can be.
Tiffany, I hope you look at these and have a huge smile on your face. You deserve it. xoxo Tara

I was excited to finally meet this next family as we had to reschedule little Nathan's first photo shoot a few times. The wait was well worth it. What I enjoyed most was seeing Nathan's proud sister shower him with love. When he cried she got very close to him and told him it would be okay that she was there...priceless! His smile is priceless too.

Better late....
During my crazy fall schedule I had high hopes that I could fit my great neighbors little girls in for a sitting but being booked out so far in advance and then dealing w/ some unpredictable weather a spot never opened up. Each week it kept eating at me. So finally one morning we hooked up did a quick 15 minute shoot right before her twin's nap. It was over almost as soon as we started and I just didn't think I got much and was disappointed w/ myself. So much that I couldn't bring myself to look at the images and promised to make sure we got a time on the books early this year.
In between my album designing this weekend I decided I should look at the images since they weere still in a file on my desktop. I realized I may have been a little hard on myself and am now kicking myself for not sharing them w/ the girls' mom. So I worked on them and am excited to share them w/ her...better late than never.
I am really looking forward to watching these beautiful girls grow and become friends w/ Cooper and Oscar in the many years we have ahead of us on our great street.

I am so excited about the nominations I am receiving. Keep sending them my way!!
This past weekend I had 4 sittings scheduled so it was going to be busy. But due to the caucus, Snoqualmie Pass closure, and a family illness 3 out of the four were cancelled (to be rescheduled). I have to admit that I was a little relieved because my husband had the weekend off and I was excited to get more time with him and my boys and it gives me a little more time to ease back into my work schedule (don't you wish we could all just be on one long vacation??!!).
The little girl that remained on my schedule may have wished her parents had a reason to cancel. When I arrived she was ready to hit the hay. I'm sure it is a stressful feeling for parents to experience because they are so looking forward to capturing their little ones but I alway reassure them that it okay & I always work with it and let them parents know that we can schedule another time. I actually love the challenge and get excited to share with parents the results of what they figure was a lost cause.
I played with little Maggie for a while and even though she was tired she gave me some great looks. I am excited for her parents to see these and all the other images from that morning but I am also looking forward to photographing her again in a few months to get them in with her.

Do you know an incredible person or family?
I have been horrible about blogging lately. That vacation has really messed with me! But I promise to get back at it soon.
One of my favorite blogs from last year was when I announced that I wanted people to send me nominations for a person or family they felt deserved a sitting and one of a kind products from me. I had a hard time narrowing down to just one nominee and choose 3 nominees. Meeting & photographing the nominees was by far the highlight 2007 for me. So I am going to do it again this year. I know there are so many deserving people out there and I am relying on you to send me an email explaining why you feel the person or family you know are deserving. I will be accepting nominations through the end of February. I will tell you that if you are wondering if it is the right thing to do, just email me. All the receipients from last year were so thankful that someone had thought of nominating them. It was really a great experience for us all. With that I want to share collages from each shoot I did last year. Before I do I will give you an update on each. Little Lily is doing well and looking forward to becoming a big sister...her mom is enduring a LONG bedrest in the hospital which has been difficult as she has been seperated from Lily who cannot visit the hospital so please keep them in your thoughts. Dave endured a radical, life threatening surgery (after months of radiation & chemo) and then underwent more radiation & chemo. When I met him his prognosis was very grim (the first oncologist he met with said to just go home, that there was nothing that could be done) but Dave has beaten the odds. He is about to have the 1st year anniversary since his surgery and has had TWO CLEAN pet scans...truly amazing! Finally Josh graduated from high school and didn't waste time taking a summer break. He immediately enrolled in community college for the summer and is now at Cascadia college and really enjoying it. He has his sights set on law school. Whatever he end up doing with his life I'm sure he will touch many and make such a difference. He is an inspiring young man!!
I CANNOT wait to see what wonderful people enter my life this year!! Email me!!!

So here are a few favorites from the trip. I'm sure like all parents I will love these for so many reasons and others will look at them like ??? but I will share them anyway. The first is Cooper at the airport being the patient traveler. Then when we arrived Oscar turned into a 40 year old before our eyes. All he was missing was a cold one every time he sat on a lounge chair. The rest are self-explanatory w/ the last being the scene every single night.
I'm back!!!
I don't think I have ever gone as long w/o blogging over these past few years. I have to admit I didn't miss the work but I did have an itch or two to post a few pictures I was taking of my boys while in away. I was definitely able to restore my reserves and I am excited to get back to work. Before we left the week unintentionally revolved around Cooper's birthday and it was highlighted by snow on the ground on the actual day. The first images I am sharing are all birthday related. Cooper from his day, my dog on the same day who just yesterday shared his 6th birthday with my mom (Cooper asked her if she was 22...we're going with that) and a quick picture of all the grandkids for grandma.
