This is my last class from this wonderful preschool. I could not believe I was able to get all the pictures done w/ the crazy rainy, snowy week that the shoots fell on. Given the kids bright smiles and personalities you would have never known the conditions were ridiculous. I really think life is just so much better from a kid's perspective! Rain or shine fun can always be had outside!

With each class I post the ages continue to get younger. It always becomes a little more challenging to find the "hook" that will get these younger ones to feel comfortable w/ a complete stranger toting big black cameras. But I truly LOVE the challenge of having 3-7 minutes to make the magic happen. It is amazing how the kids slowly open up and their smiles emerge. So fun to see. Since this is a small class size I decided to add a few images at the end that sum up the fun I get to have w/ these kids. I am just showing you multiples of one little girl but so many ended up laughing and giggling just like her. Such a fun way to spend a morning.
And after photographing these kids I have decided I want to go back and be a little kid...the clothes are so adorable it is crazy.

With four more preschool classes to go I moved to the Capitol Hill location. I have photographed in this alley for 6 years now and I NEVER grow tired of taking pictures there. The area I shoot in is no more than 50 yards long but there is so much color & texture to photograph in it is ridiculous. You don't need the cleanest, prettiest, nicest landscaped area for portrait photography...I would take a grimmy alleyway over perfectly manicured lawns any day! I think it works but you can see for yourself...it doesn't hurt when the subjects are so stinkin' cute!! And such good listeners too!
I can pretty much saw the exact same as the previous post for this next class. They are another Pre-K group who dealt with inclement weather. You would never know we were in the midst of winter given their beautiful, beaming smiles that warm your soul. Kids are amazing!
