You will see from all the images I am sharing that this family was incredibly easy to photograph. Ugh...the kids...so beautiful! And then there was a special dress request change that included beads...who doesn't love purple beads and a little tulle. And check out the love these siblings have for each other. LOVE IT!!

This family just relocated from New York arriving in time to enjoy the beautiful August days we are having and fortunate to miss Hurricane Irene. They moved in just a few doors down from me and so I completely enjoyed getting an opportunity to spend time with them and document this time in their lives. A new home in a new state would be exciting enough but these were taken just days before the oldest headed off for her even newer home as she is now a freshman in college. This dynamic threesome was so fun to photograph and I hope they cherish these images for years to come and look back on them fondly as the moment in time that their lives took an amazing turn that lead to many great events and memories! Welcome to Seattle!!

If you asked these boys what the highlight of their photo sitting would be I am sure it had nothing to do with me. I just can't compete with a giant green recycle truck coming by and honking at them or with the chance to push a button and open and close an automatic gate. No contest there. But they at least they rewarded me with a few very quick moments of together time that were priceless.

The goal of this next shoot was really to photograph little Keira who somehow is already one...where does time go? I met her at the park where her brother had a morning camp so I couldn't help myself from photographing him too. I am sharing individual pictures of them that made me laugh when looked at side by side. The first two have similar angles and big smiles, the next two have a similar look as they share something important about each, she can be serious and LOVES her blanket and he is the big 3 and the last two again are similar is look. CUTE KIDS!!
For me there are always early signs that fall is just around the corner. Waking up in the morning and finding the sky a little darker and my shooting schedule getting busier and busier. The last quarter of the year is always my craziest time of year for work so I have been doing my best to rest up before the madness hits.
A few ago I had the pleasure of doing two senior portrait sittings for two special people. I was touched when the mother of the first, my cousin who lives in Illinois, contacted me saying her daughter wanted me to take her senior pictures. I may have met Miranda when she was came up to about my knees but she really didn't know me and I was honored that I was the one she wanted to capture her as she enters her last year of school. She is a great girl who is proud of the work she has done with FFA (Future Farmers of America), she hopes to be a veterinary one day & she is as beautiful dressed down as she is dressed up!
The second senior I photographed was a boy, Max, who I met two years ago. It was great to see him again & hear about future plans that include starting his last year of high school & his family moving to a new home that will allow him to swim every day of the year which is his favorite activity. The first image of Max is one of my favorites from my first shoot with him.
Here's to the senior class of 2012!! (I am going to pretend typing that doesn't make me feel really old!)

We just returned from a week off the grid in Canada canoeing and backpacking with our boys. I feel lucky to have gotten the time away with my family surrounding by stunning beauty and solitude. And now it is back to work...
This next sitting was a great change from my Seattle scenes. This mom had scoped out a few spots on Whidbey that would be fun for her family and her best friend's girls. The spots were filled with lots of color and great textures. The girls had fun running around together exploring the hidden jewels of an old farmhouse and barn.
