Left in amazement

As I was driving away from this super fun shoot, all I could think about was how incredible the four sisters were together.  They were excited to take me to a few of their favorite spots in their house (hanging bar/trapeze was a must capture) and just be together.  I really am lucky to have such great clients, old and new, that make my job so enjoyable.

I hope these girls will look at these pictures and see how beautiful they are both inside and out!!

Photo bombing puppy and his beautiful family

At the beginning of my next family sitting they expressed how much they were hoping to get a few pictures with the newest addition to their family...a 10 month old puppy.  They admitted it may be next to impossible because the puppy was always on the move.  I thought about waiting until the end of the sitting to include the puppy, best to keep chaos to a minimum with a family I am just meeting.  But the rambunctious subject had other ideas and had us all laughing throughout the shoot.  Not only did he defy the odds and was a great subject and then did not want to be left out.  He became the family photo bomber (I have added some of his best bomb work at the end as well with each of his proud owners...I know they can hardly wait to see the puppy pictures so why wait?!).  He was uncanny with his timing, popping in at the last minute.

It was my first time photographing this great family.  Each of them made my job so easy and fun.  Photographing them at home gave the kids the chance to memorialize their favorite spots outside...two tree climbers and one grass hider.  They made me realize I need to get busy and capture my boys in their favorite spots before they grow out of them!

Location, location, location???

One of the most frequent questions I am asked when scheduling sittings is, "Where is your favorite place to photograph families?"  Followed by, "We have done family pictures at X, Y & Z parks, and we are wanting something new..."  I do have favorite outdoor locations I suggest, but after this family's sitting, I realized my most favorite place to photograph is in & around my client's home.  The setting adds one more element that my clients can cherish in the years ahead.
I enjoyed every minute with this next family.  When I walked in the door, the youngest was on the stairs still waiting to be dressed.  It was perfect timing.  While she was getting dressed, it gave me the opportunity to sneak up the stairway with the other kids.  They loved playing at the top of the steps and they loved it too.
I had so many favorites, it was hard to narrow.  I did add a few extras of their youngest at the end.  I couldn't resist.  People always say the youngest in a family is least documented so this gorgeous firecracker deserved a few extras to ensure that would never happen.
I still have fall availability if you want me to come capture your crew in your casa...call me!
