I was lucky enough to photograph this brother and sister duo twice last year and was looking forward to seeing them again. The weather was questionable so we decided to meet at their house just in case we needed to head indoors. Their mom wasn't sure if the house would be a great spot but it ended up being perfect and such a great way to capture her kids playing in their favorite spots. As I was walking up to their door and I saw them peering out the window at me I knew it was going to be a great shoot. I had many favorites so I decided to do a few collages and then end w/ an image that for some reason makes me smile...it was my very last frame I took and sums up the exhaustion that crept in after a morning of fun.

There are still spots available for my July 20th workshop. If you have been on the fence jump off and join us! I promise you will walk away with the knowledge to take great pictures.
We are out of town for a few days and I thought this is a great image to end.

A few more of the fanciful ferry...

Saturday, June 21, 2008

Since I have once again been a little behind on my blogging I am going to spread this next one over a few days because these images make me really happy thinking about the fun this little girl was having in her brand new princess/ferry dress from her nana. She lives just a few houses down from us and each evening lately the boys and I wind up outside playing in the street until all hours with her. The street gets amazing light in the evening that it is hard for me to keep my camera in the house. Here is a little peak at what the light was doing that night...I will share a few more over the next two days.

If you are a long time reader of my blog you have gotten to see this next family a number of times. I so enjoy documenting their little guys grow.

I love this next little guy for a number of reasons. The first is that he has one of the coolest first names I have ever heard...Birch...isn't that the best!! And at just 5 weeks he was able to hold his head up for at least a minute w/o it flopping to the floor. This little guy is STRONG!!! And adorable.

Workshop date announced!

I am excited to post that I have just announced another workshop date. The next workshop will be on Sunday, July 20th. Spots are already starting to fill so contact me asap if you would like to reserve a seat. If you would like more information on what I cover type "workshop" into the search field in the upper left corner of this blog and you will find more info. And do not hesitate contacting me if you have more questions.
Did you read today's paper??? Seattle is the coldest place right now in the northern hemisphere...colder than Siberia!!! Not the best for getting little ones outdoors for pictures!! This next family braved the wind and I think it paid off. I love the first image so much I had to get in closer for a second shot. Although getting young siblings together for pictures are always fleeting moments when the moment does happen it is usually adorable! I also love watching 2 year olds try and show w/ their fingers how old they are. This little guy was smart, why do it the hard way when I have two hands full of fingers to choose from.

Last week I found Oscar was in training for the Fremont Parade coming up this weekend (for you non-Seattlites the parade is notorious for the naked bikers). Even though we are rarely breaking 60 degrees these days my boys still have a summer mentality. This has become a regular event each evening in front of our house. They have even recruited a neighbor. It definitely brightens the end of our days!!

Weather in Seattle has been tough these days. I feel like fall is going to be here before we see any 65+ degree days. Mist and rain are getting old!! I have always been one to say that it doesn't really rain in Seattle as much as people think. But this year our reputation is definitely being met!
We were lucking to squeeze this family shoot in. The youngest of the crew wished the rain would have won but thanks to an uncle by the end he was a happy camper.

I'm sure this next mom is anxiously awaiting a sneak peak of her girls. I just couldn't go to bed w/o getting these up. These incredibly happy girls made my day when I spent the morning w/ them at their home. Even mom joined in for a few of my favorites.
