I am crazy busy and trying to wrap enough work up before heading out of town...spring break for Cooper and we are heading to the mountains. So I am going to keep my next few posts brief. Parents are waiting and I don't want to keep them waiting until next week.
Great kids who were so cooperative even with dust flying in their eyes.

Here is another El Paso family that I have enjoyed photographing since their second was an infant. They are now a family of five and since their youngest hasn't gotten as much airtime on my blog I am going a little overboard sharing her images, but she is so cute. This family hung in there w/ me as the wind gusts pick up. It was pretty miserable but I hope they feel like the misery was worth it after seeing these images.

El Paso round two

It looks like I am going back to El Paso for Mother's Day weekend. I am scheduling sittings for May 9th. Please contact me soon if you would like more information.
Everytime I photograph these two little ones I leave w/ a smile. They are so fun and easy going they make my job very easy. I LOVEEEEE this first image!

In my haste to get my last post up I overlooked a few that I wanted to share. I love the interaction in the next collections. You can see how much these boys adore their mom, so does her husband. They were just a few days from celebrating their 12th anniversary and it is great to see the love and laughter they still share.

This next sitting was perfect timing because grandparents were in town visiting so they could join in. The boys were so well behaved, these parents are definitely doing something right! And then they are cute to boot!

My next client has been anxiously waiting to see if her vision became a reality. I have photographed her daughter many times and I always appreciate that she has ideas for each sitting. There is a field I have driven by so many times when I am in El Paso and have always wished I could photograph in so I was excited when she said that is where she wanted to meet. She made me laugh because as we were getting started she said, "Now Tara, I know you are not a prop girl..." as she pulled out a white umbrella. She is right, I am not one for having a ton (read any) of props for my clients, but I am always willing to work w/ items that have meaning to my clients so I was so up for giving it a go. The setting was perfect for her daugher's outfit AND the umbrella. As we were starting the light was going and was very flat. But about 20 minutes in an amazing light hit the field. I scooped up Grace and went running to get into it. We had an amazing few minutes before it set behind the Mexican mountains, it was magical!
Chris, I hope this is all you were hoping for.

More Laos...

I am fearful that all my Laos picture will end up sitting on my hard drive never to see the light of day. Before too much time passes I figure I should continue to share them and hope that one day I will do more than just put them on my blog.
This next batch is from the middle part of our hill tribe trek. We left the Hmoung village early in the morning. Leaving was tough, the people were so friendly & welcoming that if I were younger and w/o the need to get home I think I could have stayed for a month or two to really soak their way of life in. Instead we pushed on. The first image is the last woman I saw as I was leaving the village. She was cleaning her machete and had the brightest smiles for me. About 20 minutes out of the village we came were passed by about 20 school kids. We all have heard the "I walked 5 miles uphill to school" line from the generations ahead of us, well these kids did have a tough hike to and from school every day. I can't imagine what the trail is like in the rainy season. They were as curious about us as we were about them. Then we arrived at a Khamou village that sat above the clouds. The setting was so picturesque. Again the people were very welcoming. We came across a man forging a metal knife. We were constantly flabbergasted by their ingenuity. As you will see I just couldn't stop taking pictures of the people. I was definitely in Heaven!
