CLOSED FOR 2008!!

I am having a hard time actually believing that I made it through this season. It has been a crazy few months and I am so thankful to close on a high. I am so thankful to have worked with so many amazing clients this year. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to do what I do and am thankful that my family puts up with my chaotic work overload. So now it is time to enjoy them and give them my full attention. We are leaving in in less than 8 hours for Mexico. The timing couldn't be better as we got to enjoy the first snow this morning in Seattle which is the best. Sunshine here we come!!
My office will be closed until January 1st. Happy Holidays!
And I couldn't post w/o a few pictures so the first is of Oscar in the snow...yes, I was the lazy mom who couldn't bring herself to track down the ski clothes...pajamas are almost as waterproof, right??
And the last image of the year is from the front image of our holiday card. Looking forward to sharing many more images with you in 2009!
photographically perfect it is just a few doors down from where I live...so great!

Holiday cards, holiday cards, holiday cards....I am one of the suckers who LOVES going to my mailbox this time of year. I love getting holiday cards. But right now I have to say I have had my fill of cards...I am about to design my 30th holiday card. (I will share a few w/ you soon) But I need a vacation and am so excited that I am leaving on one in less than a week!!! BIG sigh of relief!
But before I go I am excited to share with you one last family. Their oldest is a pro by now w/ me as he and his brother have both been a part of my Baby's First Year plan. I am starting w/ an image that makes me laugh...like he is saying, "her again, do I really have to smile???!!!"
The boys did great and the shoot went off so easily, which their mom deserved after having to reschedule for rain. You may see some similarity in the last few family shoots. I have found my new favorite spot to shoot and beyond being photographically perfect it is just a few doors down from where I live...so great!

Shockingly it was another dry day at the end of November and I got to play in the leaves one more time. It is very late so I am at a loss of words but I know there is a mom out there anxiously waiting to get a sneak peak. So enjoy my brevity!!

I took these pictures of my youngest last month and have been wanting to work them for a long time. Finally I had to get my act together to make my annual photo ornaments for our tree so I thought I would share them here so my family can enjoy them.
They have a funny story behind them. I asked Oscar if he wanted to put on him "fancy cloths" and model for me. He was up for it and I couldn't really believe it. But when we walked outside he said, "Where are all the people?" (the boys have been my "models" for my workshops this year, so he thought all the people were outside waiting for him). I said it was just me and then he adamently refused having me take any pictures. But he did want to take a pictures with my camera. So we had a few minutes of fun and laughs w/ him as the photographer and then I managed to sneak in a close up. And then my little window of opportunity closed. But it only takes a few clicks. I think these may be my favorites of him this year.

Soulumination Artists' Sale

If you are looking for special holiday gifts you MUST head to Ballard this weekend. Or you may even find a little something perfect just for you. If you can't make it this weekend perhaps you can think about giving a charitable gift this holiday season. Soulumination is providing unforgettable memories to so many families. You gift will give so much to families who are facing the unimaginable.

WARNING...IMAGE OVERLOAD AHEAD!!

I have looked over the following images a handful of times trying to narrow down to my very favorites. I just couldn't do it and since I my time is so limited I decided not to torture myself and share them all. And I think out of anyone, this client deserves it because for the 3rd year running she has been my biggest Seattle "fan". I have photographed her kids numerous times over the 3 yrs but I never grow tired of seeing them. They are always up for playing w/ me and their little brother is following right in their steps. A brother or sister will be joining them after the new year. What a lucky little baby.
I love this first image. Raising his hand at 1 yr to get some camera time.

I had very low expectations for this next shoot in regards to the weather. Late November shoots always make me nervous because the cold and rain has usually settled in. But I was completely surprised to have a beautiful, clear, sunny day arrive and then to find piles of dry leaves to play in really made my day. This little guy had fun playing in them...it may have been his first time in the leaves. He did great!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I did and am thankful for my parents for coming up from Oregon and spending time with us. My mom was the best helping me get our tree up and decorated...I don't think I have ever been this on the ball for Christmas. Thanks mom.
Here is yet another newborn that will be celebrating his first holiday this year. His sister almost stole the show with her big smiles but he managed to hold his own (as you will see he just needed to shed a tear or two to get his way which I loved!).
