This next family defninitely ranks at the top of my wonderful "fan" list. They are always so excited about my work and incredibly complimentary w/ everything I have done for them in the past. Before leaving El Paso, I took my son Cooper to a historic area in downtown and fell in love w/ the colors and textures that I hadn't been able to find anywhere else in EP. So that Cortney & Jack were game for checking it out It was a great place to take their boys, Judge and Jack who are hilarious and full of energy because around each corner there was something new to captivate them.
So I'm going to apologize in advance...it is late, I am on my last legs and just cannot focus enough to narrow down my favorites. So I'm going a little overboard w/ this post these kids are just so cute I want to share them all!

I think this is such a sweet look Judge gave me.
Of course most would hope in this next image Jack had his eyes open. But I actually like this look. I think the shoot is very peaceful and sweet of them both.

And then they just couldn't contain themselves any longer...

The First of Many....

I know there are many Texan families that are anxiously awaiting a sneak peak at their pictures from this past weekend. I managed to get through the first few today (yes, I am going in chronilogical order so if you were one of my Sunday families you will have to be patient w/ me but I promise I am working as hard as I possibly can to get to yours) and am excited to start sharing the images from my whirlwind trip with you all.
The first family I met w/ at 7:30 am on Friday. I have so many fabulous clients that call themselves my "fans" but this mom definitely gets the prize for my biggest fan. I met Chris a year and a half ago and have enjoyed photographing her family before and after the arrival of their beautiful little girl Grace.
I had fun with her at the park, in her room & in the bath.

I am really happy about these next images just for the fact that we managed to get the sitting in! Their mom had been eager to have her little ones photographed for the past year so that we found a time that worked was terrific. Her kids had incredibly expressive eyes w/ eyelashes to kill for!

Lilly Tomlin comes to mind w/ this next image.

Not a perfect family portrait but this one just makes me smile.

Smiles abounded on the swing and trampoline.

I had been looking forward to traveling to Vashon Island for Noah & Kaysie's wedding. They are from Portland so I had not had the opportunity to meet them before their big day.
Even for a stranger it is completely clear how excited they are to be married and how much they love each other.
Noah played his sax as Kaysie walked down the aisle...can you get any more romantic than that??!! So we had to take a few pictures of him w/ his horn.
The hands reaching across the aisle are Kaysie's dad's and Noah's mom's.
As soon as I saw this huge tree on the property I knew it just had to be in some of the pictures. The bridal party didn't need any direction and it just worked perfectly!

A young onlooker with gorgeous eyes!
Bright sun is never a photographer's best friend. But it is always good for fun shadow shots.
I made it back from a whirlwind, work-packed trip to El Paso and my head is spinning so fast that it may explode shortly. In a 2 1/2 days span I photographed 20 great families stay tuned and you will see them all here. On my flight down I finished up my last Seattle family shoot. David had contacted me a few days prior to the weekend. He was calling from Montana & hopeful that he and his brother could surprise their parents w/ a sitting. The weather had been a mess and I had my doubts that we would be able to squeeze in the shoot. But David & his wife must have brought the sunshine w/ them as blue skies and sunshine emerged and we enjoyed a beautiful evening by the water.

I am heading out tomorrow for a long weekend trip to El Paso. I will have 19 family shoots in days so I have been crazed to work through as many of my recent shoots as possible. Here are two more great families that I shot this past weekend.
Donna had called me a few weeks back excited to get family pictures as both her kids had recently moved back to the area. The adults were great but her granddaughter Sophia definitely stole the show.
The first two just make me smile. What grandpa doesn't LOVE kisses from their grandchild??

And Sophia obviously loved it too!

How cute is she???!!!

And, as a mom, this next series sums up what we all hope for for our families...the excitement that both have to be together is priceless!!

This next family has been hoping to get pictures for quite a while and when the weekend forecast looked like we might have to wait even longer. But the weather held and we had fun by the water.
Three beautiful girls!

I had been looking forward to photographing the Burkard family at Lincoln Park. I have always loved the park but have not photographed there before. Of course the morning arrived and rain was threatening. But they were game to give it a go even as sprinkles started to come. The rain came but they were total troopers and hung in there. The girls were having a ball in the covered area we found so as long as they were happy all was great. I am so glad they didn't cancel w/ the rain because I had such a great morning w/ them.

She had just learned how to swing by herself so I am posting this picture for her so she can see what a great swinger she is!
